Sick days always seem to turn into countless youtube searches and random movie/tv show watching for me (so basically like every other day of my life except a little more thorough then usual). This one time I taught myself how to french braid and waterfall braid. Pretty sure that was my most productive and useful sick day ever.
This sick day I decided to watch a french movie made in 2003 called Jeux d'enfants (Love me if you dare) that I found while watching random fanmade music videos on youtube.
I'm so undecided on whether or not I love this movie. I mean I do think I love it.... but there were so many parts where I just wanted to scream at the writers and ask "why must you do this to me? why?!", and others where I wanted to applaud them for their brilliance. In the end I guess it was best that they played out the certain parts in certain ways, the characters just wouldn't be the same if they didn't. Since the characters are completely foolish and wonderful in the first place...
Anyways, it's basically a french 2003 spin off of Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet, therefore its a tragedy with completely over dramatic characters, which I seem to love lately. It's also based on the novel "Flipped" by Wendelin Van Draanen. I'll have to add it to my endless reading list.
I forgot how beautiful french is. "M'aimez vous? Je fais."
Hence why I'm now sitting on google translator learning random phrases.
I wish I had taken the time back in highschool to actually learn the language properly.
Overall, I'm thinking I'm going to need a second watch in order to figure out my opinion on this movie. I think I like it... I mean going through pictures I couldn't pick a favourite scene to choose from! Which obviously means I like it... right? gah. I'm just going to go watch the rest of my Friends dvds for now (half way through season 5! woot!)
Did I forget to mention how much I love the use of symbolism in the merry-go-round box? Love. It.... I'm so turning into my English Professor hahaha
Cap ou pas cap?
